Social Gathering Before/After

For International Women’s Day: Together We Ride we will be featuring our Teays River 100k route. The route leaves from Teays River Brewing and Public House in Lafayette, IN and quickly takes riders out into the countryside through farmland and river and creek valleys. The route has fewer feet of climbing than a standard 100k however on many parts of the route riders will be fully exposed to the wind. Shorter distances (leaving form Teays) will also be offered if you or your family or friends aren't quite ready for a 100k this early in the season. Please see the Facebook event page for non RUSA rides or email Lydia at lydia.trott1@gmail.com. After the ride everyone is invited to continue the celebration over food and drinks. Let's celebrate strong women cyclists, make a commitment to inspire more girls and women in cycling.

Are men invited to ride? YES! “Forging gender equity isn't limited to women solely fighting the good fight. Allies are incredibly important for the social, economic, cultural, and political advancement of women.”

Please note the brewery does not open until 11AM. If you need to use the bathroom prior to the ride, there is a gas station down the road.

The International Women's Day 2023 campaign theme is #EmbraceEquity

“Each one of us can actively support and embrace equity within our own sphere of influence. We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion. Collective activism is what drives change. From grassroutes action to wide-scale momentum, we can all embrace equity.”

Let's celebrate strong female cyclists, make a commitment to inspire more girls and women in cycling and “embrace equity to forge harmony and unity and to help drive success for all. We embrace equity, we embrace diversity, and we embrace inclusion. Equality is the goal, and equity is the means to get there. Through the process of equity we can reach equality. Let’s all embrace equity today, and always. Are you in? Will you embrace equity?”
