Riders will cross the Wabash River twice and cross over 21 creeks all via road.
Shorter distances will also be offered if you or your family or friends aren't quite ready for a 100k this early in the season. Please see the Facebook event page for non RUSA rides or email Lydia at lydia.trott1@gmail.com.
After the ride everyone is invited to continue the celebration with food, drinks, and community. Bring your own post ride substances. (Sharable substances are welcome as well). Let's celebrate strong women cyclists, make a commitment to inspire more girls and women in cycling.
The International Women's Day 2023 campaign theme is #EmbraceEquity
“Each one of us can actively support and embrace equity within our own sphere of influence. We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion. Collective activism is what drives change. From grassroutes action to wide-scale momentum, we can all embrace equity.”
Let's celebrate strong female cyclists, make a commitment to inspire more girls and women in cycling and “embrace equity to forge harmony and unity and to help drive success for all. We embrace equity, we embrace diversity, and we embrace inclusion. Equality is the goal, and equity is the means to get there. Through the process of equity we can reach equality. Let’s all embrace equity today, and always. Are you in? Will you embrace equity?”

The start and finish location is Cicott Park located at 8275 East Independence Road Otterbein, IN 47970. It’s nestled between Lafayette, IN and Attica, IN along the western banks of the Wabash River. Riders may camp out the night before and after the ride if they wish. The park amenities include a shelter with picnic tables and electricity, an outhouse, and a few walking trails. No open fires are allowed! A ma and pa general store is located within walking distance of the park. There are no water spigots, so bring water with you!
We should change the ends times to include the extra time for gravel. For this ride, it's 7 hours 55 minutes.
Detour was required at the Williamsport Road Bridge. Shortest Detour from the "road closed" locked gate back to the intersection of Williamsport road and Grant Street was 17.9 km. The closed section of road was 2.4 km for a net adder of 15.5km. None of the detour was gravel.
It was a great little route and great weather.
Bridge closed due to high water on Williamsport Rd
Note- I started to ride before the official start. 169km is the total, 97km from the start at Cicott (shortened due to the bridge detour)
